With members from Washington and Rensselaer counties in NY and Arlington and Bennington VT, Battenkill is the southern most club in Western New England region. Battenkill PC members meet on horseback twice a month, April through November, at Chestnut Ridge Stable in Cambridge. Chestnut Ridge has large indoor and outdoor arenas, miles of trails and dirt roads and a BN/Novice level cross country course. In winter months, members meet at Liberty Ridge Farm in Stillwater NY, for unmounted meetings devoted to horse management instruction. . Battenkill PC offers a three day camp each summer, with guest instructors and our summer rating day incorporated. It is the highlight of the summer activities.

Members range in age from 8 – 21 yrs of age, and hold ratings from D1 to HB. Battenkill members and graduates have competed in dressage, eventing, show jumping and tetrathlon rallies. Battenkill has sent qualified members to compete at nationals for many years.

With a large member base, our older members are able to mentor the younger members, and gain valuable teaching experience. Emphasis at pony club is placed on safety, and thoughtful horsemanship. DC Denise Film is a graduate "A" pony clubber, and is the head riding instructor. Outside professional instructors are utilized often throughout the riding season.
